What does this item do

I personaly have never had success with deer lures, but I have found a real proven method on harvesting large bucks everytime. My buddy has 1200 acres of property and has always and consistently shot large body, big antlerd bucks, The only thing we can figure why he is so successful, is that he drives a dodge truck. I used to be a ford man, but last year I bought a new Dodge Ram, and started hunting with my buddy, I shot a real nice ten point this year, so that just proves that if you want to shoot large bucks consistently you have to drive a dodge. ""Another successful dodge truck story""""

My thoughts exactly. There have been days where I do everything right, and not see a thing. The biggest buck I have ever shot I stumbled upon while making lots of noise, wearing a carhardt jacket I change oil in.

Goes to show, motor oil is a great deer attractant.

I like the truck theory!

Austinhuntman 12-13-2012 04:53 PM

Lol wow I need to try both of those at the same time and see what happens lol

Joe.USMC 12-13-2012 05:13 PM

I have never had any luck calling in deer. I just sit there and try not to make any noise.

ihookem1 12-13-2012 06:24 PM

Nothing ever works for me neither. Except one time, i did a grunt call and a buck came in. It came back after walking away, or was it just coming back anyway???

monoped 12-13-2012 06:36 PM

I dunno,Ford been producing some serious bucks for me. Folgers coffee too.

NebBuckHunter 12-13-2012 07:53 PM

Oh, also, anything that has "cabelas" embroidered on it. I don't know what it means, but it sure kills a lot of bucks. I see it in pictures and tv shows all the time.

The only thing that seems to work for me are items with the word "Remington" or "Winchester" on them. Has worked for years.

I dont know about everyone else but I have noticed that everytime I have killed a nice buck, I usually took a dump in the morning when I got up. Like others have said, scents, camo, rattling, and calls are all B.S.!!!! To consistently harvest a good buck, you have to be where they are and be quite and still. There is always a chance you can walk up and spook one, but then again there is always a chance you can win the lottery. I like to increase my odds the sinceible way. You see all these call and sents working on t.v. but what they dont tell you is that 99% of it is advertising crap that is filmed at a game farm. If you blow a call everytime you feed the deer of course you can get some footage of it coming to a call or even some scent or mock scrapes. I have horses, you can rattle a feed can and guess what, they will come running in.

I never killed a buck due to scents but have done so rattling and grunting. Most have been killed while still hunting and seeing them b-4 they see or smell me. Just a numbers game and the more time out there the better the chances. Same with rattling and grunting. Try it 10 times and you might not see anything but often a deer will have responded but circled downwind and then snuck off. Once in a while it has worked so I use it as just another play in the book and try it when the conditions are absolutely perfect. My "luck" has gotten much better since switching from a Silverado to an F150.
