Well first of all you have to be in an area that produces the size of buck you are looking for.then alot has to do with perserverance, patience, skill and just plain luck

1 way to get bigger bucks is to let smaller ones walk. It will take a couple years, and take the cooperation of neighboring land owners though.

Then factor in some patience and scouting/time in the stand and you will be seeing better bucks.

Don't shoot small bucks in the main thing, If you shoot them, then where are the big ones going to come from. Also predator control!!!!

I hunt on a hunting club and we have big deer and nearly everyone has gotten at least a seven but me and 1 other guy who is new do scents or sprays or anything like that work

I killed a 55 pound coyote 3 years ago I think that's the biggest ever killed up there :)

Patience and perserverance...

Hunting

Hunt trophy areas. I hunt Catskills, NY and this place is 3 points on one side minimum. Let the younger deer walk.

Also: go up. Head to mountains and go up. Then hunt down. Bigger deer seek solitude after the rut. Down south this is later than up north.

Even during the rut, bigger deer will service does then go up, seeking the thermals to cross-wind a doe. If you are there before him, you stand a reasonable chance at a monster.

I think your doing good now. But the only way to kill a big one, is to let the little guys go. but hey, go out and have fun hunting deer. Dont get to wrapped up in antler size yet.
