Default Giant Buck!!!

November Controlled deer Hunt (2012)

11/87 Remington Semi 12 Gauge.
Bushnell Scope
Remington's Premier Core-Lokt Ultra slug

Been hunting this property for many years with moderate to good success of small bucks does/fawns. My fathers stand is situated along a swamp areas with very nasty terrain and every year a few nice bucks always seemed to show themselves just out of distance for a clean shot. As our group got together at the end of the day and share stories of what we saw and did not see. My father said that he seen a fairly nice buck from a distance away in the thick stuff similar to the same buck he seen last year in the same area. So the next day I decided after the morning sit that I would head back home and take out my climber and sit down a ways down from my dad closer to a thick area that I have seen many large rubs and scraps in a section of pine trees that lines the swamp. As the evening settles in with only a few squirrels making there usual racket in the leaves I hear a faint sound of what seems to be a branch break from a distance and then nothing for several minutes and then more branches breaking. As light was fading I decided to take my grunt call out and let out several aggressive grunts out just for the hell of it. That’s when it all happened this beast comes trotting in at quick pace and then stops and just stands there with his head up looking directly in my area. I lift my binoculars up to get a better look at its rack and I was in shock! Holy #*#t please come closer!! Then he runs at full speed right towards me and stops and turns broadside around 65yards with a tree covering his vitals. Just his shoulder was showing. At this point in time I already had my gun up and ready to fire with my cross hairs on his shoulder waiting for the shot. One more step forward and he was going down and the step came and I fired. He made a huge jump and fell about 15 yards of the shot. My dad calls me on the radio and said was that you? I said Oh Ya!! We waited for another 35 mins and all the time I had my eyes peeled on the buck. My dad came over and we just started laughing and celebrating like we just won the lottery! Best feeling in the world to take an majestic animal like that and to share the experience with my dad and my friends and family. Dream hunt come true!

Special thanks to my hunting group for there help, the land owner for allowing us to do what we love to do and to my good buddy Silvio for all the endless deer tactic advice and help he has given me over the years! Thanks guys!!
Now time to get it scored!![IMG]http:
