As already stated...someone hit him high and back with a broad head and he walked away from it. He should make it as long as infection or coyotes don't compound the problem.

yea i do but with my plots and 4 cameras for the most part outside of the rut.... i know what bucks i keep on my land

agree.... looks like he's been shot, gored by another buck, or hit by a vehicle.

Definitely an arrow wound. What you see is the exit wound. If you look closely, you can see right about on top of the back, barely on the opposite side (from this angle) where it entered, very high. Looks as though it went over the spine, and came out high on his right side. He'll be just fine.

Either a wound from an arrow or it could also be a cancer / tumor growth. I have seen deer with that kind of a growth before. Really hard to tell to make any real diagnostic analogy in my opinion.
