It draws too may yellow jackets & Racoons for me. Just pick up a bag of sugar beet crush. Our deer act like it's crack. They can't stay away form it.

Ive tried it and put a trail cam by the jar attached to a tree. 2nd night it was discovered by 6 racoons. The next night had 9 at once and the jar didn't survive.....

get the new single packs to go and put them on a tree. less waste. look in your grocery store. 6 to a pack. So far no luck with deer but will try at least 5 more times.

Just out of curiosity, heres a scenario. I live in a state where baiting the deer is illegal. So what if a jar of peanut butter were attached to a tree, 10 yards from a tree stand (lock-on). Warden sees this setup on a day hunter is not there. Hunter removes peanut butter, then hunts in the stand the next day. Is this illegal baiting of deer, if the bait is gone when the person is actually hunting?

In Indiana the bait must be removed within 10 days of hunting the area.

Bait has to be removed 60 days prior to hunting in Nebraska. But salt and mineral blocks for "cattle", and "accidentally spilled" corn from a combine during harvest are usually fine...
