Hey guys I am taking a trip to Hancock county Illinois next Thursday oct 18th. I will be hunting from oct 19th to the 26th. I plan to try to sit all day every day since these dates are not ideal for harvesting a mature buck. What would y’all hunting strategies be on these dates in this area during the “oct lull” Thanks!..

Considering that peak testosterone and peak for does is supposed to be the 29th, along with the rutting moon, they would be seeking / chasing. I'd think that rattling would bring some big bucks in for a look.

I would try to rattle and decoy if you have one ?If you have the choice to push it off a few days and stay through the 1st i would do that ?The decoy more twards the 1st. just my2 cents!!

Rattling is working already!! Rattled in 2 smaller bucks last night just at last light here in So. Il. Had a small 6 and 8 come in. They should be lucky I was just jacking around and won't shoot anything less than a 140" unless its a scrub buck or doe.
