Question on climbing stands.

I am probably going to get the ameristep grizzly climber this year. I was wondering if anybody had any expierience with this. Also anybody with a climber... does your have the bar in front? Does it get in the way or do you have to stand up to shoot.

I' m not familiar with the Ameristep, but it sounds like you' re talking about a shooting rest. I personally don' t like this because it has the potential of taking some shots away due to high angles and it complicates bow hunting by having to modify.

What are some climbers w/o shooting rest, and are there any with movable ones?

I use a hunters view and it does have the rest! What i do is set the platform at the desired height so it doesn' t get in the way and I lean on it for a bit more stability while bowhunting! Works for me! :)

RE: Question on climbing stands.

Look at the " Old Man" tree stands. If you are hunting with a rifle, it has a shooting rest for you. Or if you are using a bow, you can reverse the seat part of the stand and the rifle rest becomes a foot rest. It will be out of the way for your shot. Just a thought.

I' ve been using the Ol Man multi vision for a few years and love it. It is the most comfortable climber I have ever used. It has a front bar which is removable and a gun/foot rest. Quiet, easy to set up fairly light cost about 225.
