does any one know of a good web site or any where where I can get some info on how to build deer stands. I know that sounds a little funny but I just need some refrence to go from if you do can your reply to this post or better yet can you e-mail me ? thanks a million

What sort of stand did you have in mind ? Ground , tree , platform , natural , tripod ... You get the idea .

well I guess I was looking at any thing free standing! platform. I have a few ideas for a stand but they all involve 4 legs some braces in between the legs and four sides. pretty simple but I dont like the idea that the deer can see me or half my body any way. last year I had a doe and a buck come out of some weeds and they were staring right at me and I was not ready for them at all and I was breathing heavy (getting buck fever I suppose) and I know they could see the condensation from my breath plain as day. so I wanted something to cover up a little more.

If you want to email me, I can send you some plans that I have. I build all my own stands and I guess the real reason I do it is because I feel they are safer than a store bought ladder or tower stand. I am a heavy guy and I just don' t trust the lighter stands. Also I have different people of different sizes hunt from my stands and I just want to make sure everyone is safe. Also with building my own, I can customize them how I like. [email protected] CDH
