Default First 2012 Deer/First buck with the bow.

So I killed this fella this morning. I wasn't even supposed to be in NC this weekend, but because of a mixup at work, I was home for the bow opener. I passed on a small doe yesterday, and decided to go early this morning. This one walked out and was grazing as close as 5 yards away. I had to wait for him to get out a little so I could stand up and draw. 22 yards. He's a pretty decent little 8 for around here, with a 1" sticker point at the base of his right antler. I'm pretty pumped.

It was pretty cool. I've killed plenty of deer with my rifle, but every other time I've seen bucks when bow hunting, I always end up way too shook up by the time they're in range, and I either shoot 8 feet over their back, or I'm too shaky to make my move. I guess I had time to calm my nerves while he was too close for me to do anything.
