does deer cain work on moss

I have a mineral block by a trail cam I am going to put corn and deer Cain by it it is in a swamp should I work the moss up and put it under the moss or put it directly on the moss.

I would assume that they would just eat the moss when they found it, if the deer cane didnt have a enough time to leech into the soil. The point of a mineral lick is to get the deer to come back to the same place over and over. If they can just eat the cane soaked moss they probably wont be back. I would kick the moss aside and place the deer cane on the soil.
