I hate this time of year

Every year around this time of year I get bored to death and tired of shooting my bow at a target and get so annixous for the season opener. !!!!!!!!!!!1:bash:

i know what you mean. ive been trying to find an interesting/fun way to practice..i shoot about 1 round of arrows, hit where i want to, then get extremely bored.. i think i may set up a woods walk shoot with targets at unmarked ranges from 10-30 yards.

Try varmit hunting. Keeps me occupied all year.

You kids must not have a house, boat, business, farms, mother in law, three daughters, a wife, 4 cars.....

There is plenty to keep you busy, as your mom if you can do yard work, paint a room, clean the garage, etc...

This is the time of year you catch up on honey dos so you can hunt in the fall... :)

What he said. Plus the heat... I hate the heat this time of year.

deer toe 07-29-2012 07:06 AM

just get bug spray with this drought and heat who knows what will happen

mr.mc54 07-29-2012 09:21 AM

Shoot gophers or other critters, small targets make you better!:)

Raised 3 daughters, have 2 already married, both with 4 year degrees and one with a Masters...Already have a grandson, own 3 farms and work for myself...Life is good... :)

Way to tell him NC! I hope I can say something like that someday. And I know what always being busy is like. I am 17 and own my own landscaping and lawn care company. It's tough when it's all a one man operation. :patriot:

nchawkeye 07-30-2012 12:32 PM

Might be tough but you don't have to take "orders" from anyone else...Some men just do better working for themselves, nobody ever had to tell me it's time to get out of bed...I'm up most mornings by 5am...

I feel your pain! Its right around the corner but not coming fast enough. Anxious to get in the stand. My trail cams keep my occupied for now lol

bdydrp97s10 07-30-2012 05:34 PM

7.5 weeks until archery opens for us Tennessee boys. Clearing out shooting lanes and checking the cameras will have to do until then.

KT29 07-30-2012 06:21 PM

This is actually a great time to be out in your hunting area early in the morning with your camera. Practice some spot and stalk, try out the new camo and scents and feel the adrenalin rush of getting close and getting a great pic with that camera.:)

browtine7 07-30-2012 06:31 PM

Here in the deep south you would smell like the north end of a south bound mule if you was out in this heat trying to spot and stalk

Agreed!! Its so damn humid.

deerdust 07-30-2012 07:35 PM

Make no mistake, I too am enjoying the north side of 50. hahaha I work and hunt to suit my needs and pleasure. My cares are free, and my worries few.

:) Steve, I wasn't giving NC a hard time, just ribbing him for being an ole fart too. lol

SteveBlack2 07-31-2012 03:11 AM

I know. I wasn't putting you down. Whatever I post is all in good fun.:) But it is nice not answering to anyone and picking my own hours and days. Most times I'm working by 7:30. Even work a couple jobs a day if I need to.

MD DEERHUNTER 09-14-2012 09:59 AM

No it not........"Hey Baby can I go hunting?"
It's......."Hey Baby! I'm going hunting and I will see you after Sunset!"
