best hunting bullet, .270

I just bought a new gun and am looking for the best bullet and weight for Deer. 130, 140, 150 I am going to pick the gun up tomorrow and sight it in on Sat for the first time. It is a tikka t3. I bought 2 boxes to start with one, hornady interlock 140 grain bt, and one box, Fed sierra 130 grain bt. I am going to start with these to see how she likes them. Are these good bullets for deer hunting in MN and is there any thing else to try? Thanks, I am new to the .270 so don' t really know what loads work best for deer.

Both are good and will get the job done on a whitetail. I personally use ballistic tip bullets for deer and have used them in a 270 and various other cartridges with excellent results. If either of these let you down in accuracy(which I assume they won' t) than give the 130 gr. Ballistic tips in Federal Premium, Winchester Supreme or Hornady SST' s a ride.

Have fun at the range!!

I bought a new .270 two years ago. A Browning A-Bolt. My choices of ammo are pretty limited as I live pretty far from a consistant source. But the Remington Core-lokt' s are readily available here.

So....The only rounds I have ever fired through it are 150 grain Core-lokts.

I think that the biggest factor is to be consistant in what you shoot. If you shoot alot...Always shoot the same stuff...That coupled with good shot placement will make you a winner.

Good luck and congrats on the new weapon.

I started using the Hornady 140 gr lt mag a few years ago and havn' t had any regrets. I won' t use anythng but a bonded bullet again.
