We had the same problem with deer stands and outhouses, where they would eat the plywood layer by layer. All we did is to stop using plywood. Replace or cover any plywood with real wood boards/planks. Building stands in the future, avoid plywood if you know porcupines are around. Are they eating wood other than plywood? I think that it is the starchy glue in the plywood layers that they like.
My problem is that in the early bow season, the porcupines show up in the last 40 minutes of shooting time and start eating all my apples. They hold the apple and spin it, eating it like corn on the cob. I have to sit there quietly watching them eat my deer bait.
