Default need recommendations for a really good padded gun case

Hey guys,

I'm looking to find out who makes a really good padded gun case for scoped hunting rifles?

My 14 year old son won a Remingotn 700 last November in my hunting club's yearly raffle. I bought a DNZ base and just ordered a Zeiss Conquest 3x9x40 scope for his rifle (which he will be working for his dad to earn).

I want to keep this rifle safe in the back of my pickup truck during transportation to the range or hunting in upstate New York State.

Thanks for any tips. Also links would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I looked at a lot of them, but I wanted one that will "float on water" also !

Here you go;

Best of both worlds; soft case with hard plastic to reinforce the areas of most concern !

Liked them so much - I brought the shotgun case as well !!!

I'd recommend a hard case for his rifle, especially if you are transporting it in the back of a pickup. Asolutely no worries about keeping it in good shape in a hard case. Plano on the cheap end to Pelican on the high end.

I've bought the $30 Plano Hard Cases for a couple of my scoped guns and not a big fan. The latches can "Clip" off and I've lost a couple on both cases. If your super careful when you open them you don't have to worry but at 5 AM when I'm heading out to my stand and one falls off at the truck and I don't realize it then its as good as gone. If possible spend the extra money and get one that will last, you'll be thankful in the end.

I use this basic case.

It gets sold with various colors, names slapped on it, and by different stores.

The latches are far better than Plano cases, and depending on the rifle setups, you can get two in the case.

It's a decent cheaper hard case.

Plano on the cheap end, Pelican and SKB on the top end. Depends on how much that system is worth to you.
Both of my work sniper rifles are in Pelican and SKB cases and they are top notch!!! I have both at home for my personal long range lead delivery systems. Be prepared to pay $250+ on either top end case, and thats on sale!!!

I'm sorry, if you meant a hard case; nothing can touch a Pelican.

Unless they're in a fire, in which case you'll need a Americase !
