a giant has been found!!!!

just got back from peabody wma doing some deer scouting..guess what?...i came up on a green field and standing there was one hell of a big buck..a big velvet clad monster...he took off like a bat out of hell but i got a good look, at least in my estimation a deer that will score in the 160"s for sure even though it is early in the year..he is big!!!..sorry folks but i cant release the name of the unit where i saw him..next thing i know come opening morning there would trucks all over that unit..BETTER SAFE THAN SORRY..LOL..

BOWHUNTERCOP 05-25-2012 03:18 AM

Are you saying he is a 160" deer now or will be? cause if you saw he is a 160" now, there is just noway he can be

whitetail hunter23 05-25-2012 03:28 AM

let me clarify....im saying that by sept..he will probably be at least 160..

liv2hnt jr. 05-30-2012 01:37 PM

IMO I don't think you can tell a deer is going to be "at least 160" this early in the year. Maybe I'm wrong but I just don't see that...

I agree with you, unless you know the deer from previous years its tough to tell. You can't tell width or tine length at this point of even mass. You might be able to tell its going to be a good deer but score this early is very tough to tell.

deernutz 05-30-2012 04:36 PM

Nope impossible to tell.

whitetail hunter23 06-05-2012 06:03 PM

We will find out in october boys...lmao..pictures dont lie.....

ky wonder 06-23-2012 12:09 AM

Rory/MO 06-23-2012 10:55 AM

Why you would post this saying what WMA you saw the buck at is beyond me.

Not trying to be a pill, but a 160" buck is just a very good deer, not a giant of a deer. A true giant, regardless of his score, will literally dwarf a 160" class buck. I've enclosed pictures of a GIANT deer...

So it goes something like this...Hey, I was wanting to hunt some Ky ground and guess what Bubba? Some guy on the internet was telling about these huge deer running around on Peabody. Thats all I need to hear. Tell your 10 buddies to pack up and we will head out this year to Peabody.

Learn to shut your pie hole about where you see big deer. Maybe you don't ruin your spot but you may be ruining someone elses. I used to turkey hunt on Peabody but never deer hunted it. I'm not saying this for me but all the guys that do hunt it. SHUT UP !!! Public land is already hit too hard. It doesn't need more advertisement.

So how much is a non resident buck tag for KY, specifically in the Peabody WMA area? HAHA

Topgun 3006 07-01-2012 06:39 PM

Can I come too, LOL!

browtine7 07-02-2012 06:47 AM

Hahaha sure! Man, I am hoping he was just posting that as a ruse. Regardless of how big it is, I am sure that posting the WMA on here will get more hunting pressure in the area this fall. Best of luck to him though! BB

@ RR, I agree, try hunting Bledsoe county TN for a 160+ buck. You will be hunting for a long, long time before you find one!
