The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

What do you guys have against him...I noticed awhile back that people weren' t really pleased with him....do you guys care to share what he has done?

Uhhh...try to sell me a vacume cleaner:D

Send me tapes I never asked for and then asked for money - of course I kept them and never sent him a penny.

Have his telemarketers call me once a month - selling some sort of crap[:' (]

Hmm...I have never gotten any of that stuff.

I enjoy the television program, and haven' t seen anything he has done like that. I have never been called or anything. Guess some people do and some don' t.

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

To me, Jackie Bushman just does not come off as really knowing his stuff when it comes to hunting. But then, there are also a few other hunting show hosts that probably couldn' t " hunt" their way out of a paper sack either!
As far as Buckmasters and JB go, allowing unethical or questionable hunting stories into their magazine and web site shows me that they are more concerned with making money than they are in truely promoting hunting as a sport!

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

I' d like to see him do a show hunting in the deep woods of northern Maine and see how many deer he sees. Nothing against him personally.......I do enjoy watching the shows and the big bucks but it is a whole different sport than the hunting I am used to. I would like to see someone like the Benoits do a hunting show.........some real traditional hunts instead of big $$ fenced-in guided ranch hunts.

The promotional side of Buckmasters seems to overshadow the actual sport itself. Understandably they need to make money, but somewhere a line should be drawn.

Well, I don' t know about you guys but the only hunting shows we get up here are Realtree and Buckmasters. I hate the commercialism of both shows, but love to see the actual hunting segments. As for Jackie, I could take him or leave him, but it' s his show, so what the hell?

When I first got cable I watched them programs all the time. Dont even turn on the outdoor channel anymore. understanding they are in it for money ,thats their living,I dont watch anymore ,cause it makes me feel like a failure. They usually get a deer ,Big boone and crocket to boot. Hey I am happy with my dink Pa. bucks. But love the mature does . They are sweat to the mouth. I think one thing that turned me off to them type was>>>>> I always hunted in Iowa as a nonresident. It is a lottery for tags. Good let the best man win! But I did not get a tag in the past 2 years. Yet the TV show hunters hunt there. Then I found out Iowa has special hunting permits for such people like outfitters and TV for hunting. What makes them any special then me ???

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

cardeer, that makes me wonder if they could get a Maine moose permit just by asking. I wouldn' t doubt it, because the state loves $$, and that would mean increased publicity and more $$ from the moose lottery. I have been trying every year for over 10 years to get one with no luck, as have many residents.

I understand the need to sell but MR. Buckmaster takes it to a whole new level[:' (]. I care not to watch, support or acknowledge JB anymore, as I feel the man does nothing to enlighten, educate or even entertain me personally.

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

I made the mistake of joining Buckmasters once. Within a week junk started showing up at my door that I did not want or ask for. I was supposed to pay for it or send it back. Sometimes I' d get a video tape which I would send back and then I' d get the same one again. Sometimes they kept on billing me for things I had already sent back. Numerous times they sent me the same stuff repeatedly. It was like being in the Columbia Record and Tape Club from hell. Although I can' t prove it I am certain they sold my home adress, email adress and Phone number to every junk mailer and telemarketer on planet earth. The amount of junk e-mail, junk mail and telemarketer calls I was recieving tripled after joining this organization. After about 3 months I finally called up and had a little verbal a$$ kicking session with them and of course never renewed my membership. Hands down the most money grubbing greedy organization ever to hit the surface of the earth. So, thats why I hate Jackie Bushman. Not to mention the unmitigatd brass balls it takes to actually refer to yourself as " THE BUCKMASTER"

To me the worst thing about them is some of the stories they put on their web site, they have no common sense, they stick a story up and if hunters raise hades about it they pull it off! Why did they put it up in the first place?

I know one of his former employees and he told me some stories while he was still working for Buckmasters.

Simply put, he is a pimple on the a$$ of hunting. He' s like Ron Popeil and Krusty the Clown all rolled into one. He does more to promote the dumb Bubba slob hunter image than anyone else short of Nugent.

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

JR, what have you got against Ted? Sure he may be a lil rough around the edges for some, but the man is deeply involved in charities/childrens activities and the hunting/gunowner political scene in this country. I have NEVER seen Jackoff Bushmaster promote anything other than his own checking account. " The Buckmasters TV show" was a joke and about as entertaining as watching grass grow. Their " Bubba" and Shotgun Red skits were just about the most demeaning and STUPID skits I have ever seen in the industry. Why didnt they just get some ole Alabama redneck in overalls, toothless, a 74 pickup and a 30/30 with seethrus and a Bushnell. Then just send him out to shoot spikes and film him killing dogs, cats, squirrels etc and drinking beer while shooting from the cab... That is just the implication they are making with the old Jim Varney character.

THANK GOD within the last year or two have they FINALLY quit calling me every season and " offering" me a membership in their grand organization, lmao. One thing I gotta give Jackie credit for, he beat anyone else to the punch when he enlisted the help of BassMasters folks in beginning his " BuckMasters" organization and has been laughing all the way to bank ever since!

Would NEVER mention Ted and Jackoff in the same sentence tho,
RA

Honestly , I think Jackie Bushman gets alot of bullsh** for stuff he has no control over!

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

Some of you seem to know very little about what the Buckmasters organization actually does for charity and kids, you might want to do some better checking on just what they have done and are still doing for the sport, the whole deerhunting picture revolves around money now and I find it hard to bash Buckmasters or any other hunting organization if they are doing good for any aspect of our sport.:)

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

I watched a video last night with the Drury brothers and company, and it was one of the best I have ever watched! They saw lots of nice bucks, but most of them got away (including the biggest ones). Even a missed shot or two thrown in! A couple of times I actually got an adrenaline rush because it seemed so real. It was extremely well done, much better than the Realtree boys or Buckmasters videos IMO.

I enjoy Ted Nugent' s show, he is intense and passionate about hunting.....very fun to watch. His respect for the animals he hunts is also very apparent.

The show where jackie took that kid that was sick and was to die soon.make a wish foundation asked if he wanted to go to disney land and he said no. he wanted to shoot a deer with his hero, jackie. Was very touching and the show promotes a good word of hunting for the kids. The world is full of money grabbers. Wouldn' t you like to hunt for a living? if you tried. you' d have to push your products hard to make it....." JIMMINY CHRISTMAS..!!! IT' s Roger Raglin ! Now there is a good entertainer. Great videos.

Highbow,

Buckmasters doing charity work is like a whorehouse opening a soup kitchen--it' s still a whorehouse.

RE: The Buckmaster: Jackie Bushman

Well I always liked the show, and thought Buckmasters was a great organization, and seems some people agree. The charity work and programs Buckmasters is involved in speaks for themselves...so they are not completely about the almighty dollar like some of you seem to think. And like every organization, you have to make money to survive, so you can' t blame the man, or the organization for pushing their products. And hell yeah I would love to hunt for a living...it would be awesome. [:-]

JRW...can I get permission to use that line:D

I don' t see how anybody can watch that crap and not see it for what it it really is.
In my book Jackmy Bushwhacker ranks right up there with Noel Feather, a blackeye for hunting.[:' (]

The shows like Buckmasters and texas trophy hunters are bad examples of what hunting really is.They only hunt high fence ranches where the deer don' t have a chance, only rich business types hunt there because their too lazy to put some real time in.I have seen a episode of texas trophy hunters where the jerk shoots a buck beside a 12 foot high fence and than he tries to justify it by saying the herd must be controlled, what an A$$.These shows are the reason that animal rights groups are all over us hunters. If you ask me the Jackie B, Bill jordon shows are just a 30 minute commercials.I understand they need to make money but is it at the expence of their integrity,I guess it is.

WOW, alot of attitudes around here. Many of the " pro" hunters, as well as fisherman, will typically have a guide (good one at that) and will harvest quality animals. It' s all about making the film and selling it...it' s a business. From the filming standpoint, no doubt the Primos boys have some very authentic footage as do the Druery boys. Heck, if I could do what they do and get paid for it, I think I' d go for it, wouldn' t you? I' d maybe even stop in here once in a while just to get a good laugh. :-) :-)

Back to what Rack-Attack said...same, same here!! Got a tape...they wanted money.....they didn' t get money....I got a tape!!!! Pretty sad way to secure business. I would never stoop to that level, that part of their business I would say sucks.

Hey I am all for being entertained and I do enjoy watching hunting shows, but as far as Jacka$$ Cashman no thanks:D. That slow creep ritual JB does up on a downed animal and poking his rump....who does that...honestly!!!!! Ole Billy Realtree can get pretty long in the tooth but at least he has hunts where he don' t pull the trigger just to fill a tag.

Hunting shows are about promotion I ain' t stupid, Primos, Wayne Carlton, Realtree, Larry Jones...the list goes on. I expect the constant gear plugs but I think Buckmaster takes it to whole new level and the irogance of him even calling himself " The Buckmaster" ...just rubs me rough I guess. Then throw in the crap mail he sends, I have never been a member of Buckmaster (can you tell) but a buddy signed me up to get into a gear grab or some sweepstakes...I was emailed, phoned and mailed crap for well over a year. Yes I got the vaccum pitch and so on. Needless to say my buddy and I had some issues to iron out;)

But whatever floats your canoe!!! If you ask opinions than expect answers you may not want to hear;)

Good hunting
