I set my blind(s) up the day that I am going to hunt any given area. Though I agree that it is probably better to allow the animals to grow accustom to them that particular approach is impractical for the public land that I hunt. As the others have stated I suggest placing them in natural " niches" to allow surrounding vegetation to break up the blind outline...either that or cut out your own.

No problem with either of my Doghouses or the Penthouse and wind flap. Maybe in a hurricane but then......

Like PABowhntr I place my pop up ground blind where I' ll be hunting that day and find a niche to put it in for better break up . Deer notice changes within their environment , but only if they see them . The blind will help to contain your scent better than being exposed in a treestand , and also hides much of your movement . This is where a blind can help since most of you isn' t visible to the deer . Deer will notice movement at almost any elevation , their eyes are very sensitive to motion , and they can and do look up since the introduction of treestands .
