RE: What state has the most huntable species?
Not exactly sure about the question. If you want to know which states have the highest whitetail density populations you can contact the Quality Deer Management Association and they have a very nice 28" x 40" color poster that should answer all your questions. Check their site at www.qdma.com or call them at 1-800-209-3337. I think the charts run about $10.

RE: What state has the most huntable species?
Here is a list of the big game I can hunt in Alberta Canada:
white-tail mule deer moose elk bighorn sheep pronghorn mountain goat black bear grizzly bear cougar (some permits can only be acquired in a draw) There are caribou as well but no hunting season presently. Wolf, coyotes and fox can be hunted but are not considered big game. Lots of opportunity for a great variety of waterfowl and upland birds including some turkey. Robin |
RE: What state has the most huntable species?
For years I dreamed of one day moving to Montana because I figured that to be the best all-around hunting available. Since my wife says she won' t go there because it' s too cold (and my bones are beginning to see her side of it), I will never be a resident there.
I still think Montana is the best bet. |
RE: What state has the most huntable species?
Texas has white-tail, mule deer, antelope, black bear, mountain lion, turkey, dove, quail, chacalaca, feral hog, javelina, sand hill crane, alligator along with free ranging nalgai, black buck, axis, fallow and several species of goat. There would be somewhere around 100+ exotic species in various ranches to hunt also.
