Shed Hunting

I'm thinking about getting a dog for a house pet. I'm undecided between a boxer and a choc lab. If I get one, I would also like to train it to find sheds. I'm sure the lab could do it, but I'm not sure about the boxer. Does anyone have any experience with training dogs for this or info on diff breeds and doing so?

A Lab can be trained to pick up sheds when he finds them, and of course bring them to you. A Boxer? Who knows, maybe.

A lab can be trained...idk about a boxer it probably could though. I know one of the chesapeake pups we sold was going to be trained to shed hunt

As for shed hunting Im not sure but we have 2 boxers and they are the best family dogs in my opinion. One is the momma and the other is the pup, now 2 years old. Shelby (pup) was house broke, knew sit, shake (each paw on command) and lay down at 5 weeks old. Not too shabby considering this was with the other 5 pups still in the house. Just an example of how easily boxers are to train.
