Default My 2011 whitetail. Too late for the contest though :D

I shot this buck @ 7:40AM on Opening day here in Indiana. He was dead downwind of me so I guess its a good thing I had Dead Downwind on lol.
Shortly after daylight I blew on my call and a few minutes later I had a small 5 pointer walk up from behind me. I watched him for awhile and finally he disappeared in the pine thicket to the right of my stand.
About 20 minutes later I had a doe run by me with a small 4 pointer on her tail. He stopped for a minute or 2 where I sprayed my tinks buck bomb on the limbs of a small tree. Finally he left as well and went on after the doe.
Another half hour goes by and I decide to glance over in the direction that the doe and small one came from and This big 10 pointer was lazily walking up the trail towards me. I got my gun up and waited. Something must have gotten his attention below the ridge behind me because he turned and started walking away from me and he was getting quite a ways away.. I panicked lol. I got my deer call and just threw some super loud long grunts at him. Then he stopped, looked back, and turned towards me! I knew he was mine. He was trotting right at me and no kidding at about 5 yards he turned sideways and I let him have it. He ran about 30 feet and stopped, so I put another round in him to quicken the process. Down he went and I bagged my 2011 trophy. =] 20 gauge sabot. He scored around 130

I TRIED JOINING THE CONTEST IN OCTOBER BUT SIGNUP WAS CLOSED. oh well.

yeah he's a good one fer sure. Congrats.

Sometimes you have to throw caution to the wind and just stop them. One day I was slip hunting and had some hogs scare 2 bucks they are flat out getting it. All I could do was scream: "WHERE YOU GOING?" I was shocked to see them stop I shot the bigger one right where he stood.
