the ockey net idea might work but just seems a little unorthodox. if i had a couple giant bucks coming into a food pile i dont think id do anything to make the set look odd to them or unrealistic. (not that a random pile of apples isnt already unrealistic)..they dont get big by being stupid. although if there hungry enough it may work just fine. give it a try. dont underestimate coons though they can climb trees and they have little people hands.

well i just kind of figured people make homemade deer feeders that look like big bird feeders so i didnt think a hockey net would bother them lol. i also thought about the bird feeder style hanging from cables too. hockey nets are cheaper though and i know once the deer get use to something they dont mind it. my dad has them on his front deck eating corn lol. those are his pet deer until he sees them in the woods with the 30.06 by his side.

give it a shot. tip one over and post picks so i can see what my neighbors to the north offer for whitetails.
