Makes up for the size of the rack? What in the world are you talking about? Lots of people go years without getting a deer that size, and to minimize it is disrespectful to the animal as well as other hunters, IMO.

It is a Remington Model 700 in .270 caliber. Stonewall308, I am extremely happy with the animal and even better I got to share it with my dad.
