Attached is a photo taken by a game camers in New York state. Can anyone identify this animal? Your comments will be appreciated.

Based solely on tail.. Possum. But the legs, eyes, ears, and snout make it look more like a small fox, probably with really bad mange or other diseases.

it is either a fox with a burnt tail.
or a possum with a big head.
take your pick. I say big headed possum.

Someone one beat me to chupacabra....dang.

Yeah, looks like a sick fox.

On a side note, the local news gets a pic like this down here in south Texas at least once a year and makes a huge news story about it being the chupacabra. Its hilarious.

I would go with a fox also. If anyone gets a picture of man-bear-pig on their trail cam be sure to post it lol
