Default My 12 year old's first whitetail deer!

I am one proud mom, my son Riley shot his first whitetail deer first day of rifle season, Nov 15, 2011! This deer would not go down. My son took a shot and it fell on the ice, breaking both its legs. He then took off, not sure how he did this but he did. He got over to him and he got up again, took an other shot, kept running. Riley went over again and there he was lying there, took another kill shot. What a strong buck. We figure it is about 3, next year it would have had a kicker off of it! Score between 120-30 we think. Posting a pic!

Used his brand new gun he got himself on his 12th birthday! His 270!

That's a fine deer. Better than anything I have ever killed.

WOW Riley you really know how to start off with a bang. Good for you. I hope you enjoy your new gun and get to hunt plenty this year and for the rest of your life.

You are one lucky young man. Not because of the big buck you shot, but because your Mom is proud of you.

We are too.

Congrats.

Nothing wrong with that buck. I like how the action on the rifle is open for the photo, and the muzzle is not pointed at your son. I see your son has a red hoodie with his hood over his blaze orange ski mask. I don't know if he was dressed like this when he was hunting or just for the photo, but I suggest having blaze orange that is visible from all directions. You don't want to become a statistic - even if you are hunting on your own private land. Again, that is a very nice buck.
