Default Nocturnal Bucks

All the movement I have seen of this Buck has been Night time. I have watched him move around in his bedding area(Cant Hunt Local Ordinances)and that area is maybe 3-5 acres.

So will a nocturnal Buck stay that way, even when the rut starts?

To be honest, I think the whole "nocturnal buck" thing is kind of ridiculous and over/mis-used. Do mature bucks like to move under the cover of darkness-absolutely. Does that mean they dont move at all unless its dark-absolutely not. You may not see him moving in the daylight cuz its probably within his "bedroom" or core area-but i guarantee he gets up and moves. All that said the best time to take a buck like this is during the rut when he throws caution to the wind and the smell of estrous is in the air. This is when these so called "nocturnal" bucks emerge during daylight and give you the best chance to put a tag on them.

Big bucks are like harvard graduates that have never had a gal, they are super smart until that hottie lifts up her skirt lol. Best chance for him to slip up is during the chasing period either pre- rut or post rut.

Nocternal is for the hunter who never goes beyond the field edge.

as soon as velvet comes off, they stop frequenting the fields as the rest of the heard, they now start moving through the woods. They also start opening up there home range, now he's on your neighbors property as well.

Personaly for me I go to the timber after velvet shed, deep into the timber, places where the rest of the crowd I hunt with are to lazy and scared to be at 5 am.

I don't buy the nocternal business either. They move somwhere, sometime from dusk to dawn.
