Default Funky Buck

This is the buck my dad shot in rifle season last year. We've affectionately named him Funky Buck. We've known him since he was a year old and when shot he was 4 1/2. We sent a tooth off to be aged just to be sure.
As you can see on the close-up, he did have a piece broken off, and it used to be about ten inches long. I'm assuming it broke off during bow season.

Anyway, we know he has some sons out there because there are a couple who look like him. He may be weird, but we love the uniqueness of his antlers.

Did you see anything in the deer's body that would indicate the funky rack was caused by a previous injury? Was he shot or perhaps hit by a car when he was a yearling?
