On monday I was out hunting by my house and had a bobcat walk within 10 yards of me. I took out my phone to take a pic of it and it spotted me in the tree. He sat down on its but and looked up at me and hissed at me. I scare the crap out of me. I thought it was a Courger at first. I haved live in the this area for almost 7 years and had no idea that there was bobcats in the area.

Just wondering if anybody else has ever seen a big cat while deer hunting?

I've shot three while hunting. They are bad here in S. GA. And, yes, they are scary as heck! I wait a long time before I approach them once down.

Carrying one out of the field is tough on the nerves. I always think he's going to wake up and go wildcat on me. Paws and claws are huge.

Hopefully I'll see none this year.

Arghh... got a whole month before rifle season down here :(

Really? scared of bobcats?

Those Bobcats can get pretty BIG....!They look even bigger when Your sitting on the ground hunting in cover.I have had several get pretty close to me while Bow Hunting but couldn't shoot them because it wasn't Fur Bearer Season and I wasn't allowed to shot it...had 1 run up to me last Feb while hunting Coyotes...it was a rush to say the least!

One year in October I was Bow Hunting out of a ladder stand and a Bobcat was trying to chase down a young Deer...the Deer ran up the back side/dam of a small Lake and swam across it to evade it and cover up its scent...one of most awesome sites I've ever seen in the Deer Woods!
