I would find out where the deer are bedding , and setup between there and where the oaks are, closer to the field / houses. Look into it tho on what ur safety zones are. But the new houses shouldnt bother the deer if there is a nic set of wooods behind it. And as for approachin the stand , i would just be stelthy and sneak in from the SW , make sure that u are as fast as possible tho , but also as quiet as possible on getting to the stand. And if anyone sees you , YOUR wearing camo so jsut dive into a bush and they will never see you.;) That is the only help i can give u on the gettin to the stand part.i wouldnt do it tho unless its necessary. but u have no other alternative.

I agree with what DoubleLung said, but it is not a good idea to enter from a field if possible. Keep your impact as low as possible when entering and leaving. Use natural features, such as drainage ditches and creeks to disquise you and your scent on the way in. If the mast crops produce for you this year, you should be in for some good hunting. Set up between the oaks and beds, but closer to the beds in order to catch deer during legal shooting hours.

YOU MADE NO MENTION OF WHERE THE HOUS(ES) ARE LOCATED. IF THERE WILL BE WORKERS AROUND THE HOUSES YOU NEED TO SET UP SO ANY SHOTS CANNOT END UP IN THE AREA. THIS LIMITS WHERE THE STAND CAN BE. YOU ARE ALSO WILL HAVE TO KEEP YOUR SHOTS PROBABLY DOWN THE LENGTH OF YOUR PROPERTY, AND BE DANG SURE YOU KNOW WHERE YOUR SHOT WILL GO IF IT IS ERRANT. YOU DON' T HAVE MUCH ROOM TO ERR. DON' T KNOW WHAT YOU HUNT WITH, BUT IN THIS CASE, I THINK A SHOTGUN WOULD BE THE WEAPON OF CHOICE. REMEMBER, SAFETY COMES FIRST, DEER SECOND.

I would be looking for a new place to hunt. Houses that close by ain' t going to be good. If you bowhunt, chances are sooner or later a hit deer is going to be running across the land line to somebody' s yard and pile up. Or if you gunhunt and you touch off a rifle or shotgun just after sunrise or just before sunset less than 200 feet from the neighbors house and they are going to be ticked off real bad. Add in the real possibility of children straying into the woods and a real problem can develope.

As a side note, be careful that the way in that you are using aren' t being used by the deer. I hunt one farm and used to ' sneak' in via a ravine w/ a small creekbed in the bottom until I saw tracks all over it and realized the deer came up the ravine for 100 yds. or so. Needless to say, I don' t sneak in that way anymore.
