I marked some quick spots that stick out to as to where bucks would bed based on hilly terrain thermals and wind direction.

RED: Bedding areas on NORTH winds
GREEN: EAST
YELLOW: WEST
BLUE: SOUTH

I hunt mainly above the boudes ferry , any help on reading the contours?
If you want a better understanding of the contour, I suggest downloading Google Earth.

It's free and when you zoom in your can take the view down to "ground level" and it gives a great view of elevation changes.

It's alot easier than reading topo maps.....IMO.

Default Old School....

I once sent a FNG down to the commo shop for a spool of contour line. My daughter wanted me to buy her a GPS and teach how to use it, I pulled out a compass and a 150 topo and said you have to learn this way first, and you'll never get into trouble. Glad to see and hear of people still using topo's.
