Hmmmm, I have never heard of deer loosing antlers in the summer. I guess that it depends on where you live. Here in Pennsylvania, the deer loose there antlers in late winter.

most deer around here find there antlers in the summer.
they lost them last fall and have been looking ever since.

same story they grow them in summer and hide them during hunting season and then turn around and lose them in late winter. P.S. take a youngster keep hunting alive
