if hes pullin your deer off of you during deer season id call him in, I got no problem with someone baiting in a area where it is legal... some call it cheating, i call it using ur resources, now using bait in an area where it is not legal, that is cheating... Call him in. Ask if there is some sort of loop hole about baiting on private land, Im about 99 percent sure its illegal no matter what, but if your gunna get the game warden on him be positive first. Dont need to have any bad blood arise over nothing there

Your neighbor is breaking the law. Lots of folks do it, but that doesn't make it legal. Just cause the guys on the hunting shows in Texas do it doesn't make it legal wherever you are. I'd talk with them if you suspect it is affecting your success.

Default acorn rage

Its legal in Carolina. The problem with Acorn rage is that after about 4 days you end with a pile of mold. I have found that to be true with most attractants. Your best bet is to find a natural food source, funnel, pinch point or a good trail to hunt near.

BamaKiller,

Also note in addition to being illegal, you may also run afoul of the law by not turning him in. If you are hunting within a certain yardage of bait, doen't matter that it is not yours, you could get in trouble. The Alabama Code also does not specify that you own the land in question, so if you are in close enough proximity, you are also hunting "over" that bait. i think the advice given to have a friendly conversation with your neighbor first was the best avenue here.
