What do you let walk?

Antlers do nothing for the taste of venison. I hunt for the meat and the sport. Sorry but I have never shot or left a deer go because of the size of its antlers. Would I shot a large antlered buck over a spike if they were standing there together? YES But that has never happened to me.

I prefer the Does and will take any decent size doe worth packing out to the truck. Bucks, I let 2 walk last year, both were 4 pointers. I decided after my first buck that all others must be bigger than that one or I won't shoot. I want to see the bucks get a chace to become at least big bodied if not heavy racked, thats just my standard at this time in my hunting expierence.

I have not always had had a restriction I would adhere to. When I first started hunting I would take whatever buck I saw. Then it was 8 points or better. Now I am looking let the young ones go. I may pass on a 130" with my bow if he is young and has potential. I will make no arrgument that a doe is better meat. I never pass a doe with my bow.

oh I can take it brushbustin. I am not a trophy hunter. Yes I want to shoot a large buck, but I have not killed a buck in 6 years. Plenty of does. Seen many bucks. In MO it has to have at least 4 points on one side for it to be legal. Take 75% of the bucks I see out of the mix any way you slice it.

depending on where im hunting and how full the freezer is. If im on a buddies property, ill only shoot does or a shooter buck (say a nice 8 pointer, maybe 130 140 min). If im on public land or national forest, ill take pretty much anything if im low on meat.

I'd have gladly traded those smaller bucks for some does, but where I hunt we have limited doe opportunities. your only allowed 2 during archery and 1 during ML season and your only allowed bucks during Rifle season and you have a limit of 3 antlered bucks for the whole season.
