Whitetailmaddness... I thought the same thing. Looked to me like it was sticking out his jaw / cheek area. I shot a doe once that had a baseball sized tumor on her neck muscle. Cut into it just because I was young and curious... turned out to be a broadhead stuck in there. Not sure how long she carried it around like that... deer are tough as they come!
