Doe Bleats
Does anyone think or have experience with doe bleats working (specifically can bleats)?
Thanks |
yea right up until this year. I have had them work pretty good. this year though the only thing that worked for me was the grunt tube to make them commit to come in.

I've had way more success bringing in bucks with a bleat can than a grunt call.

It's a great coyote call:)
Although this guy came in to it, mostly small bucks with my experience... |
The buck I shot this year was walking away from me about 60 yards out when I first saw him through some pines. I hit the bleat can twice and he turned around and came in for a 12 yard bow kill.

I've never had any luck with them yet. I have rattled in a doe however, LOL.
Here's a really good site that shows you how to use this miracle deer call (that I bought). It's supposed to be a good one. Play the instruction icon in this link. http://illusionsystems.com/whitetail...sher-deer-call |
Have had zero luck with bleat calls. Tube or "can".

my experiences have never been good with doe bleats can or tube. my best luck has been grunting, with my own voice. i did some experimenting with different pitches and it that seemed to work best for me.

I use The Can bleat call and I've had good success with it. For me it's brought in curious deer, buck and doe. i've never had a big buck come into it tho. I shot an Ohio 8 point a few years back during Archery season, it was running across a field, I hit the bleat can and the buck turned around and ran right into my set-up. Seems to work good to get deer curious more than anything.

in my opinion bleats can be useful to spike curiosity of deer but I only use them if the grunt tube isnt spiking any activity or if nothing is coming into rattaling. be careful how you use a bleat though as short estrous bleats replicate a doe in heat but long bleats can mimick a doe in distress and alarm deer in the area. youtube actually has some very good videos by whitetail biologists that show correct use of bleats,grunts,rattaling,etc....
