say there is a deer with really good genetics that you have seen and it gets hit by a car lives but has a weird rack on it do you shoot it to get it out of the herd or do you pass it and let it breed?

The accident will not change the deer's genetics.

A man that loses his arm in an industrial accident does not have children with damaged arms.....

If you want his genetics around, let him go.
