What leveraction for brush gun

I took a sabbatical from deer hunting for a couple of years, to pursue ducks. Now that I have done that I learned I am a deer hunter. I like the peace and quiet, and alone time. Anyway I want to get a lever action brush gun for next year and Santa needs gift ideas. What are you all using, and what caliber. I have a lever action .410 that I was considering using with slugs, but not sure about that. Besides I like getting new guns. Anything would be appreciated.

Marlin 336 in 30-30 has killed perhaps more deer in America than any other gun. And with some of the new ammo for them such as the Hornady Leverevolution it's damned accurate.

You could do far worse.

Winchester 94 in 30-30 is a good one to.
Or a Winchester 94AE in 44 magnum to.
What ever you get good luck.

I have the Marlin 336 C in .35 Remington which I love, but ammo is harder to find.

The .30-30 ammo is much more available, but not as effective on back bears IMO.

I have a lever action Marlin 30-30. Never have had a problem with it, always accurate. My parents traded an Indian rock for it so we either got a great deal or had a very valuable rock lol

There is no such thing as a brush gun LOL. I use my bolt action .300 Win Mag as my brush gun.

I have a Browning lever action rifle in 308 cal, it is clip fed, short barrel, straight
English stock and the trigger is part of the lever so you don't get your fingers pinched. This was my first deer hunting rifle I ever owned. I bought it back in 1988. You can get a larger version that will fire 270 or 30.06, I still hunt with it.

Brush rifle is a Short rifle......Just like the M1 Garands were made for Tanker personnel......Most consider Marlin 336 & Winchester 94's as Brush Guns......

In Minnesota brush coutry the Marlin and Wichester 30-30's still are very popular. Many are going with 45-70 for Bear, (Marlin, I think)

There is such a thing as a brush gun. It is a short, light weight, quick handling little rifle that is easy to carry around and quick to get a shot off with.

Now, there is no such thing as a brush bullet. If a bullet hits brush of any kind it will be deflected.

Some great brush guns are the Marlin rifles (I have the 444 marlin) and Ruger compact M77's (I like the laminate compact).
