This time of year Id figure out where they are bedding and get between that and the corn stubble. Setup so the wind is in your favor because all the scent control in the world doesnt fool all the deer all the time. Im from Missouri and I only hunt evening this time of year and you can bet its around a food source. And like Marlorboy said, change that pea shooter in for a rifle or shotgun or smoke pole if possible. Best of luck to you

If you can, try investing in a trail cam. It tells you what and when is passing your area and especially in the off season, you can shift it around and gather more data.
