I have used Summit's, API's, and Lone Wolf. All 3 were excellent stands but I have always felt that the Summit Viper offers the best combination of comfort, portability, ease of use, and safety.

I use two older versions of the Summit "Open Shot". I love them.

The only climber I've used is my Summit Viper, and it is very comfortable and portable. I could sit in it all day very easily.

My Dad and I purchased a new stand three years ago at the north east sports show in PA called the equalizer tree stand. It has great grip on the tree, easy and secure cables, and it allows you to adjust both top and bottom of the stands if you misjudged the tree. No more standing on an angle.

We used it so much that I picked up my own last year and my older brother got one for this year. My dad is 61 and prefers to climb with this stand instead of sitting in one of our ladders or hang ons.

We dont do sits longer than 3-5 hours and it is not the best seat for a long sit but very easy to use.
