Federal Power-Shok Ammo

Anyone use this stuff? Looks cheap, and the price matches ( 13.99 a box for 270, and almost all other calibers they carry ), but i have been tight for cash this season and thats whats in my clip ( I tested them at 100 yards and exact same point of impact as the previous bullet ).

Just want any opinions or experiences with this ammo, thanks!

iv used these on deer twice,180 grain 30-06,accuracy was not the problom.the problom was the core seperateing from the jacket, happened twice for me,had poor penertration.both deer needed to be shot again btw both shots were at about 100 yards.

Prior to hand loading, the blue box federals were the most accurate factory load i could find for 2 of my rifles.
They performed well out of my 243win and my 7mmremmag on deer out to 125 yards

Bloodsaw,
There are several deer and a bunch of caribou that are no longer around to bother anyone due to those rounds. Besides at $14 buck a box that's .70 a round. It costs about .50 for just the brass. If you are a reloader this works out great!

Got two rifles that shoot this ammo into less than 1" groups at 100 yards. One is a 270 Winchester and the other is a 308 Winchester. Never had any problems with it on deer either.

My son shot his first deer this year using the 180 grain Powershocks out of a 30-06 at 80-90 yards. Never recovered the bullet as it went through one shoulder and exited under the spine right in front of the opposing rear quarter. Deer dropped in its tracks.

Yep, they are a great bullet. I wouldn't hesitate to use them as long as they shoot well for you. When it comes to any of the soft point bullets, they all perform very similar. So just pick if you like a silver box, green and yellow one, or a blue or red one(depending on where you buy them).

im not saying they wont kill im just saying your odds are greater of haveing bad bullet performance, hey if u want to take that chance just to save 5 bucks a box you go right ahead, but not for me no thanx.think of how much u spend dureing a deer hunt, why would u want to be cheap on something as imortant as your bullets?
