I shoot a PSE that can go to 70# but I have it set at 57#. I got a complete pass through with the arrow sticking in the ground on the only deer I have shot with it so far.

My bow is set at 60... It can be set up to 70 but you really don't need it.... I play college baseball and can hold my own in the weight room but you do not have to show off to kill a deer... it is pointless... I shot my 220 pound buck this year at 30 yards and my bow that is set at 60 was putting enough balls behind my arrow for it to go straight through the deer. I would say that you would not want to go under 50 but anything over 50 is plenty to fill the freezer.

Modern bow's are amazing. I shoot an 82nd Airborne set to 60# with a 27" draw length and still get right around 280 fps. Shot one deer this year at 20 yards, blew through it and stuck in a tree. If I'm getting those speeds and penetration with a 27" draw and only 60#'s I'm thinking I'm good to go.

I know what you all mean haha my new bow arrived and was set at 70 I dropped it down to around 60 it shoots good out to 40 yards with just 2 pins so 60 seems to be plenty, only issue now is the draw length is a little to much suppose to be able to adjust it yourself with no press but havent had time to read instruction.
