Default Finally!!!!!!!!

I went to my stand tonight around 3:00pm and was in my stand for about 5 mins and my neighbor started shooting his pistol in his yard. Not a big deal I thought. Then the wind switched. I looked at my watch and I had about an hr and a half before dark. I decided to use this opportunity to scout an area I have always wanted to.

The new place was kinda cool. Nicer then I thought. Its some bottoms below a cattle pasture. real thick stuff with cedar thickets. I was walking real slow kinda analyzing the terrain. I came up on this knob and noticed movement down below about 60 yds from me. I stopped and waited 10 minutes. Then I noticed it was a deer. Then I saw horns. I got my rifle up found him in my crosshairs and squeezed the trigger. Click. It caught me off guard. I slowly opened my bolt and nothing. I never reloaded when I climbed through a wire fence. I was able to slid a round in my chamber without the buck noticing. I found him again and squeezed. He bucked and ran only about 30 yds. It was just cool to be able to slip into a new area and stalk into 50yds of a buck and get 'em.

I know he's not a monster, but it's been a hard season. So many close calls. He's a trophy to me and I'm darn proud of him. Can I say deerburger's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

blur I belong to a club in SC thats 2200 acres. It was a cattle fence. Trust me there's too much land I don't know on the club to be hoping into someone elses land. Plus if I owned land I wouldn't want people tresspassing on mine.
