I'd hunt a food source the evening of or before the front and I would expect to see deer earlier than usual. Especially if it's crappy weather leading into the front.

My two cents.

I just experienced this in Michigan earlier this season, same scenario. The deer were out in the open fields by 3 p.m.--during a heavy rain, mind you--while the front was yet to move through later that evening.

Especially if you're talking snow coming...the deer seem to know. Kinda like people going to the store to stock up before a storm hits.

Depending on where you are in (eg. British Columbia) and the season and elevation. In September high country 10000 ft south facing slopes predict snow. Early October high country 5-7000 south facing slopes wouldn't be raining it would probably snow. Nov and Dec, it wouldn't be raining, There would be 16 ft of snow in the mountains where I hunt so I would be hunting in an elevation of 3 ft of snow or less. If a cold front is on it's way south facing slopes and major migration routes.

Some of the best hunting I've ever experienced was shortly after the rain stopped. Of course, I was hunting in the rain and the rain stopped suddenly and, in turn, the deer started moving. I was anticipating the rain to stop later in the afternoon..... Some people call that luck. I call it skilled at being in the right place at the right time and knowing the weather forecast. Can't go wrong with either bud. Hunt the food in the p.m. and the trails that lead to cover bedding in the a.m.
