correct technique for absorbing recoil

I would like to know what the correct posture is to absorb recoil. I hate having the gun pop up after shots. Any suggestions?

Pull the gun really snug against your shoulder, don't let the rifle be too high so it pushes against your collar bone. Try to get your upper body as perpendicular to the rifle as possible, only leaning forward slightly so it doesn't push you backwards.

The barrel is going to flip, no matter what you do. If you push down on the front of the stock or barrel, you'll affect your accuracy and it's just not worth it. The best thing to do is find the slightly forward position that makes you as stable as possible so the rifle doesn't push you past your center of gravity so you can recover from recoil as fast as possible.
