Smile 2010 whitetail

shot this buck on nov. 22 2010 he green scores 184 7/8.
went out with my dad for the evening hunt at 3 30 pm, when we got to the spot where I usually sit and where I was going to sit that evening, we found out that the wind was blowing in the wrong direction for that spot. My dad, having seen a nice buck too far away for a shot in the morning, suggested we both set up in the area and hopefully get a shot at this buck or another good one. When we arrived to the area I was pretty bummed out because I hadn't hunted there since blackpowder season in october so didn't really know where to sit, my dad offered to let me take the spot where he had been that morning, but I refused. So I went to the next field over to see what kind of tracks were in the area, and to see if there had been many trucks driving through (most people in our area road hunt so I was looking for a spot where the hunting pressure was low). The good news was that there was only one set of truck tracks through the field, the bad news was there were only 3 sets of deer tracks and it is a big opening with very little bush. Being in a pretty sour mood at this point, I figured there wasn't much I could do about it and decided I would see if I could get lucky. Spotting a rock pile in the middle of the field I thought this would be a good area to sit and give me a decent gun rest, while climbing the rock pile I slipped and hit my gun on a rock, so now I thought great even if i do see something worth shooting i wont hit it anyway cause my scope is off. when i got to the top i sat down and started grunting, on my third sequence of grunts i looked to my right, and out of a farmyard 1000 yards away i saw this guy come out of the little brush in the yard, I took one look at him through my binoculars and knew I had to get ready for a shot. He started running along the bushline that borders the farmyard and the field towards me, while he had his head down, I got off of the rock I was sitting on, kneeled behind it, put my gun on top for a rest, and waited. By this point, he had run out of bush to run along, he came straight across the field from 800 yards away right to me. I waited until he got as close as I thought he would which was 200 yards away then he turned and tried getting downwind of me, I pulled the trigger, he hunched up and ran into a small bush that I could almost see through, and held up. I waited for a bit thinking he needed time to bleed out, 5 minutes later, he came out of the bush with only his chest in the air, his back legs were out, and he looked straight at me, I put the crosshairs on his chest and pulled the trigger, and I walked up to my biggest buck to date.
