Wifes first Deer

Took the Wifey out for her first hunt and she didn't let us down. We went to public land and she took this nice 8 at 15 to 20 yards. It didn't run but maybe 20 yards. I wish my first deer was as nice.

She did great! :barmy:

What caliber does she shoot?

Thanks guys and gals. She was shooting a .243 with a Federal 100g. I haven't had a deer run more than 50 yards with it. I was so excited I probably could have carried her and the deer out.

This was only her second day hunting. It took me 9 years to get my first deer. I told her she must have had one heck of a guide (me) ;)

Nice! Congrats to you and your wife!! Cool to be able to enjoy hunting together!

Congrats! I am still trying to get my wife her first deer. I got her a blackpowder rifle to use and took her to the range a couple times. She is a good shot, but slow. She missed a nice little 7 ptr late one evening. She was really down about it too. I got that same deer the next evening. :) She was more excited than I was because she was happy to see that she truely had missed the deer and not wounded it.

I must now get her another chance.
