Sausage, now sausage
Yesterday was opening day in south Bama. Our plots aren't up due to late planting because of dry conditions, but my grandson wanted to go anyway. I just went up to the first plot and got in the ladderstand and a few minutes an old doe we had nicknamed sausage came out on the left. She kept looking back and I figured she had a young fawn with her, but soon a 3/4 grown fawn walked out. This old heifer always makes a big deal of checking out the stand, running around, blowing, stretching out her head and usually ruining the afternoon hunt. Nobody had shot her in the past, but yesterday I shot the heifer in the head so now old sausage in in the cooler, soon to be smoked sausage.
