I hunt on private land hooked onto public land that is high pressured during the first couple days of the season. Trying to bleat and rattle in deer in these kind of hard hunted areas, is like trying to tell a person to hold on when he is running past you on fire. They can stop a deer for a moment or two but nothing more than a mouth grunt would. Really just depends on where you are in the season and where you are hunting

I grunted/rattled in my first deer three weeks ago. It worked like a charm. I grunted and rattled at the same time for about 30 seconds and stopped. He came running through the woods. Two minutes later my arrow double lunged him.
