This years muzzleloader deer from Oregon... Harvested on Dec 3rd 12:30 noon... Used a .54 Hawken shooting 90 grains of FFg over a .015 patch and a home made round ball.... Wasnt going to shoot as it was the 1st day and I had seen bigger bucks scouting the day before but when he DARED me to pull the triogger at 75 yards I just couldnt take it... Teeth aged him at over 6 1/2 years old...

Sorry I took so long to get back to you guys I broke my laptop screen and just got a new one today.
@Lee Brown: It was a shotgun, I was using a Remington 870 Express 12 gauge with a smooth barrel. I was shooting 2 3/4" Brenneke K.O. Slugs.
@NebBuckHunter: I don't have the sheet with me but off the top of my head both bases were 6 inches, main beams were 27" and 27 5/8", his G2's were both almost 12 and his smallest mass measurement was 3 5/8"

I was just looking at the pictures and I was shocked to see your comment about no bowhunted bucks in the thread. Yes, I agree there should be different threads for each. But for entirely the opposite reason. Bowhunting is much more difficult. Getting a trophy within 30yds is nothing compared to shooting one over a corn pile, like most gun hunters do, out to nearly a half mile. I am a talented gun and bow hunter and gun hunting is hardly a sport compared to bow hunting. You don't even have to worry about scent elimination or getting close to a trail or food/ water source. Not to put down the sport, gun hunting is the best way to get meat, thats about it. Just not much thrill in KILLING with a gun, get a bow and actually go HUNTING. Again, not to put down the sport, but the first thread started it. I assume you were joking because it is such an absurd notion, but I'm not.
I agree that the comment caught me off guard a little. I also gun and archery hunt. I love gun hunting, but archery is a totally different ball game. I can't count the number of times I've watched a buck while early archery hunting and said to myself, if it was rifle season, that buck would be done for. Totally different sports. Like both of them,just don't understand the animosity between the sports.

West virginia buck
My son took this buck in barbour county west virginia the day before thanksgiving using his old trusty remington 788 chambered in the 308. Gun has some age on it but still shoots great.

congrats to everyone this year who shot deer. I shot a 9pnt and a 6pnt but dont have pics to post because I'm so bad on computers. I need some advice. Does anyone know where to buy a 50lb bag of DiCalcium Phospahate? I live in Massachusetts. Any help?

Took him 1st day of Ohio gun season 2011.
Mossberg 935, rifled barrel, Remington AccuTip slug.
45 yard shot in the rain.
153 5/8", 21 1/2" inside spread, 190 lbs. dressed.
I didn't know he weighted that much, till I picked up the meat from the butcher and a told me what he weighted.
