Nervous!!!!!!!!

I just shot that giant 8 point iv been posting about. I watched arrow flight and no I hit him behind the shoulder but arrow didnt pass through and is stickicking out of him. He was slightly quartering away so im guessing it hit the opposite shoulder blade and thats why it didnt pass through. Im shooting 2 blade rage broadheads what do you guys think do we have a dead deer on our hands or what. I watched him run off and went to where he was shot no blood but Im thinking thats because the arrow is still in him. I didnt pick up the trail at all yet im waiting till noon to start my search. While running away I saw the arrow and it wasnt flopping it was stuck good and sturdy. Im so frigan nervous this would be the biggest deer I have ever gotten to datee my hearts going a million miles a minute :o

waiting another hour and a half just to be sorry im frigan nervous

Maddog10 11-12-2010 06:41 AM

If you know you hit him behind the shoulder and he was slightly quartering away, I would say you have a dead deer.

monkeyman2269 11-12-2010 06:45 AM

you find it?

awesomewrangler 11-12-2010 06:55 AM

I stuck one like that last year, just behind the shoulder, quartering away, arrow hit the opposite shoulder with about 12 inches penetration. He was dead in 60 yards or so. I'd say you have a dead deer on your hands but waiting doesn't hurt anything. Keep us updated and send us some pics when you find him!

any update yet? im sure if you found him you would have posted, good luck, hope you find the deer.

I'd say we have a dead deer. If thats where you hit him, you made a mess of his vitals, give us an update!

Can't wait for the pics, congrats!

I'm gonna go ahead and predict an update with pictures of this buck by no later than 2:00, a little over an hour from now. Unless of course this deer needs to be driven all over town to be shown off, which is understandable. It sounds like a solid hit and you should have a dead deer to haul out of the woods when you return. Good luck!

scribbler444 11-12-2010 10:53 AM

RonPenner 11-12-2010 11:25 AM

Oh man, I've been feeling the pressure waiting for you to report, can't imagine how you feel, is it big bush you're in? What's the terrain?

BIG DONNIE BRASCO 11-12-2010 11:28 AM

Get a dog on it.

2robinhood 11-12-2010 01:44 PM

Maybe the lady that walks the dogs can help you look for it.

scribbler444 11-12-2010 01:54 PM

not really i walked about 500 yards in every direction no arrow no blood no nothing......and that btch lady called dec and said i had a note saying i was gonna shoot her dogs everything is cleared up now.after an hour of talking to a dec officer...she has actually given me permission to hunt her land so thays an extra 6 acres she said theres a huge 8 point on her lawn and shes sick of it it its her flowers..but i no its the one i shot today..i feel disgusted i didnt get him ts been a long frustrating season.im buying a new bow next ear i have had zero pass thrus on deer so far its time to switch

2robinhood 11-12-2010 02:14 PM

With everything that she has done, I'm not sure I would step foot on her land.
As long as she doesn't bother you and stays off the trail, I would just hunt were you are.
Seems like you had it good till she screwed stuff up.
Next time you know, she might be missing stuff and you'll be in jail.

kellyguinn 11-12-2010 02:27 PM

Hope you find your deer.
I agree that if you can find some one with a good blood trailing dog go for it as long as it is legal in your area. I shot a really big one last year with great blood then 2 clots and nothing after that. Another hunter bumped it and thats the last I heard. But the law here states that you can not take a deer with the aid of a dog. And according to the dept that means tracking.

marquismarc 11-12-2010 03:22 PM

good luck tracking him down....keep us posted.
