Oh please. Unless you are chugging pots of the stuff, as some have already said, the stimulant effect of caffeine is nothing compared to adrenaline.

Target shooting I get. But hunting, no way.

The deer fever on a cold morning combination really gets me,the coffee I guess it effects me some. I have cut back to one cup before hunting it seems like a non issue as long as I keep it at one.

If I fall asleep in the stand, I won't be shooting anything. I'll take my chances with coffee.

This will help whether you have the shakes from coffee, the cold or buck fever. Get you a portable shooting rail. Take it with you on stand and I promise it will steady your shots and you will kill more deer with one shot.

I love coffee too but it does effect hunting

Negatives

A. Makes you shake
B. Makes you sweat.
C raises your blood pressure.
D. Stimulates your appetite later
E. Restless...probably get out of the stand earlier than you planned
F. Makes you pee and poop more

Positives..
A Enhances your senses
B makes you very alert...like a Rambo type
C. Gives you energy..probably scout when you come out of the tree

Tough Choice..biggest negative for me..makes me sweat bad and pee alot.

In a hunting situation, I'd say no. If you're target shooting, and looking for accuracy, then yes. Anything that raises your heartrate and makes you jittery is gonna have an effect. I don't drink the stuff tho. SO I honestly don't know.

I agree with Jeff & PY.

A cup, maybe 2 is fine for me if we go out for breakfast. But usually we breakfast at camp.

The biggest concern I have with coffee is having to take a #1. I try to keep my breakfast on the bland side to avoid the #2 also.

I think it all depends on how your body normally handles caffeine. My brother runs on caffeine/energy drinks, and I think he'd malfunction without it. I don't drink coffee, and I've cut drinking any pop for about three years, but I know when I eat something sugary right before I shoot, it'll be going down hill from there, at least until my body can metabolism it.
